Key figure analysis & performance optimization

In the Insights section, you can call up selector statistics, which form a good basis for analyzing the success of your selector. The key performance indicators (KPIs) help you to understand how your target group uses the selector and which products are most frequently recommended on the results page. When looking at the key figures, it is important to measure the analysis data against a benchmark. This is the only way to get a complete picture of the success of your selector.
In the following section, find out how to calculate the key figures and which benchmarks you can use.
Calculation of key figures
When a user clicks through the questionnaire, FoxBase calculates various key figures. This will give you an overall picture of the parameters that will help you understand user behavior and the overall success of your selector.
In the following, we describe how FoxBase evaluates the parameters based on the behavior of our example user Bob.
Bob finds your selector on your website and starts it.
This generates a call (request). The request is initially counted as a bounce (=1), as Bob has not yet clicked on any of the responses in this scenario. In addition to the request, a session is created that is valid for one hour. A user can initiate several requests within a session.
Bob answers the first question of the questionnaire.
The request changes from Bounce (then 0) to Exit (=1). The exit is = 1 because Bob has not yet reached a results page in the scenario.
Suppose Bob interrupts the questionnaire before he reaches the results page, e.g. by closing the tab. In this case, the request remains as Exit (=1).
Suppose Bob opens the page again within an hour. In this case, the previous exit (=1) continues to be used. In concrete terms, this means that the request will not be increased. In addition, all answers that Bob stored in the questionnaire before closing the tab are removed from the evaluation and overwritten by the new answers.
Example: Bob has selected answer A for question 1 and then closed the tab on the second page. If he now opens the tab again and clicks on answer B for question 1 instead, answer A is deleted from the history. Only the click on answer B is included in the Insights. Attention: The previous entries of the request are stored in the local storage of the browser. If Bob works with Chrome and opens Firefox at the same time, these are two different requests.
Bob has now answered all the questions and reaches the results page, where the appropriate recommendations are presented.
The request type changes from Exit to Completion (= 1).
Bob notes that he wants to change an answer after the fact. He clicks on the question, selects a new answer and then goes back to the results page.
FoxBase measures Completion (= 2) because two different result pages were displayed based on different answers.
Bob enjoyed the selector so much that he clicks on "Restart" and ends up on the first question page again.
None of the KPIs are increased in this scenario. Sessions (= 1) and Completion (= 2) remain. The bounce rate is not increased because it is only counted when the selector is opened for the first time.
Now Bob answers the first question of the questionnaire in the second round.
FoxBase counts a new request as an exit (= 1). As soon as Bob has reached the results page, the completion (= 3) is calculated from this exit (1 from the first pass, 1 from the answer changed afterwards and 1 from the second pass).
After Bob has reached the results page, he closes the tab.
The completion is not converted into an exit, as Bob has answered the questionnaire in full.
Optimize selector performance based on the KPIs
In the section above, we describe how the platform measures the insights data. But how can you derive measures from the key figures to improve the performance of your selector?
